2024 Repost — You're Only Old Once!

The resurrection of Jesus Christ and His extension of that same blessing to all who have lived, are now living, and will yet live upon the earth brings a wonderful promise to us:

In all of eternity, we only grow old once.

Whatever pains, sicknesses, disorders, disabilities, injuries, deformities, or other peculiarities of physical perfection take us away from the ideal of youthful strength and vitality, these will all die with us when we pass to the next life. They will not rise with us in the resurrection.

Only the best attributes of our bodies will be continued with us in the next life. The list of eternally dead things includes mental illnesses, which may seem to be deeply rooted into a person's fundamental attributes but are mortal maladies fixable through the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Take time to carefully treasure up the words of eternal life. Feasting upon the words of Christ throughout your life will prepare a table before you, to enjoy the perfect memory of all the truth you have learned, including what you've forgotten.

"When the Savior shall appear we shall see Him as He is. We shall see that He is a man like ourselves.

"And that same sociality which exists among us here will exist among us there, only it will be coupled with eternal glory, which glory we do not now enjoy."

"Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection.

"And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come."
